Administrative Assistant

What I do: I am the administrative assistant at CFBC.  I am blessed to be able to serve our pastors, church board, as well as the entire church family in a multitude of ways.

Family: Widowed in 2008.  I have 3 grown children: Rebekah, 26; Kevin 24; and Megan,  22.  They all live and work locally in the Comox Valley.

Education and Experience: I graduated grade 12 in Richmond, BC. I moved to Toronto a few years later and have worked many jobs since then.  My primary and most enjoyable experience thus far includs being a school bus driver for 30 + years and an administrative assistant for 5 years.

Book/Author that has impacted me most:  My Utmost For His Highest – Oswald Chambers.  Daily nuggets in this book have become blessings as I focus my attitude and actions outward.

Favourite Scripture:  Ephesians 3:14 – 21 ESV

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,  from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,  so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love,  may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,  to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

A few of my favorite things: Anything to do with Anne Of Green Gables, the colour purple, reading Christian fiction, swimming, knitting, watching movies, learning about essential oils.

Hope and Vision for Courtenay Baptist: My hope and vision is: We are a community that constantly seeks to love and accept all; To be the believers that walk out our Christian journeys NOT in a state of fear of what the world is experiencing; but to know that God is in control and we are not.
